Alaina Macia to Lead the St. Louis Go Red for Women Movement

MTM is excited to announce that our President and CEO Alaina Macia has been named the executive volunteer chair for the American Heart Association’s 2024-25 St. Louis Go Red for Women® movement. In this key leadership role, Alaina will guide efforts to improve heart health awareness and empower women in the St. Louis community to take control of their cardiovascular health.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women, taking more lives each year than all cancers combined. The statistics are staggering—according to the American Heart Association, nearly 45% of women over 20 live with some form of cardiovascular disease, which remains the greatest health threat to women in St. Louis and around the globe.

“I am honored to chair the St. Louis Go Red for Women movement because the health of women is a cause that is deeply personal to me,” Alaina said. “Heart disease continues to be the leading threat to women’s health, and I have seen how the American Heart Association’s mission has made an incredible impact in educating and empowering women to take control of their own heart health. As we look to the future, I am excited to unite our community in advancing this vital mission and ensuring women in St. Louis and beyond have the tools and support they need to live longer, healthier lives.”

The St. Louis Go Red for Women movement, which culminates in the annual luncheon on April 24, 2025, aims to inspire, educate, and unite women to take action for their heart health. Under Alaina’s leadership, the campaign will serve as a trusted source for credible health information and equitable solutions, providing a vital platform for women to protect their hearts.

“We are incredibly thankful to have Alaina leading our Go Red for Women campaign this year,” said Jennifer Jaeger, executive director of the American Heart Association, St. Louis. “Her dedication to our cause and her leadership will significantly benefit the women in our community and their families.”

MTM is proud to sponsor the St. Louis Go Red for Women Luncheon, along with Edward Jones, as part of our ongoing commitment to health and wellness in our region. Together, we are excited to support Alaina in her efforts to bring greater heart health awareness to women in St. Louis and beyond. Congratulations Alaina, and thank you for your continuous leadership in the St. Louis community and beyond!
