MTM’s Community Outreach Team Supports Unhoused Nevadans at Aghaby Clinic Resource Fair

Recently, MTM’s Community Outreach team in Nevada took part in the Aghaby Clinic Resource Fair in Las Vegas. The pop-up event, hosted by the Nevada Homeless Alliance’s Project Homeless Connect, brought together a variety of services and resources designed to support the local unhoused population. Held at the Aghaby Clinic, the fair offered attendees access to a wide range of essential services, from housing assessments and ID/birth certificate assistance to mental health support and recovery services.

Throughout the day, visitors could take advantage of a diverse lineup of resources, including free medical insurance information, cell phones and tablets, showers, clothing, and hygiene kits. Snacks, drinks, and other basic necessities were also made available. These services, aimed at alleviating barriers faced by the homeless community, provided attendees with immediate relief and long-term support.

MTM’s team was on hand to provide valuable education on Nevada’s Medicaid non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) benefit. Our staff assisted members with NEMT-related inquiries, offering guidance on how to access transportation to crucial healthcare services. By helping individuals navigate their NEMT benefits and providing solutions for transportation, we aimed to help break down some of the access barriers that can prevent people from getting the care they need.

The Aghaby Clinic Resource Fair served as a critical touchpoint for unhoused Nevadans seeking support. MTM is proud to have participated and remains committed to helping vulnerable communities in Nevada and beyond access safe, reliable transportation that promotes better health outcomes.
